What do you like about your job?

There are plenty of opportunities to work with different types of people, in various industries, facing different scenarios, and with non-stop challenges along the way.

What’s been the steepest learning curve of your career so far?

I have been lucky to ride the wave of a steep learning curve since the beginning of my career in the management consultancy industry. I have learned to identify and solve complicated business issues and communicate with top management in various industries, including healthcare, high-tech and consumer goods. Notwithstanding this, when I started at Eight Roads, I immediately faced the new challenge of transforming on-paper plans into executional tactics for investing into and operating early-stage companies within a complex and dynamic business environment. The journey to build DeltaHealth, a cutting-edge private hospital in Shanghai, continues to be especially stimulating and enriching.

How would you describe the culture and team at Eight Roads?

The team at Eight Roads is intelligent, passionate, professional and supportive. We might not be as aggressive as some other investment teams in the market, but we hold strong values and have plenty of integrity and team spirit. As a team, we are a formidable player in the market.

If you could give one piece of advice to your younger self what would it be?

No great mission can be accomplished through one person’s efforts, no matter how hard you try. Always try to engage others, think about things from their perspective, pay attention to their needs and address their concerns.
