What is the job you do at Eight Roads? Can you briefly describe a day in your life at work?

I am part of the finance team at Eight Roads Ventures India. My role involves managing fund raising for our portfolio companies, NAV and fund performance. Along with participating in the exit strategies for portfolio companies and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and reporting standards applicable to the funds.

Looking back, what’s been the steepest learning curve on your career journey so far?

Transitioning from being a consultant, focused on advising multiple large clients on high value high pressure deals to a finance role has been a journey of great learning. As part of the in-house finance team, I gain comprehensive insight into the entire transaction lifecycle which has helped broaden my perspective and in turn respond better to stakeholders.

If you could give one piece of advice to your 20-year-old self what would it be?

Embrace uncertainty and change as opportunities for growth, rather than sources of fear. Take risks, explore new paths because the journey is as important as the destination.

How do you directly support our entrepreneurs/principal investments/portfolio companies?

As part of my role, we regularly liaise with our tax consultants in order to assist our portfolio companies by providing guidance on taxation as well as finance aspects.
