The opportunity to back founders I admire and want to work with. I hope my own experiences and hard work can help improve their odds of being successful.

What’s been the steepest learning curve on your career journey so far?

Probably navigating the rapid evolution of AI. It is an incredibly exciting yet deeply technical field, with breakthroughs emerging almost daily. Many investment principles once considered timeless are being challenged, forcing us investors to rethink and reevaluate our frameworks, which is quite a humbling experience.

Which founder do you wish you had backed, and why?

Tobi, the founder of Shopify. He remains CEO to this day, successfully navigating founder-market fit across every stage, a feat only the most exceptional ones can achieve. I love his storytelling and believe that inspired many talented people to join him on his mission. I also admire the product-centric mindset and strong execution; even as the market leader, Shopify continues to innovate at a high pace, which is rare. We also share a passion for strategy games like Starcraft and believe in the benefits of playing them—I think we would get along really well!

Best piece of advice

Prioritising means focusing on the single most important thing at a time and doing it exceptionally well. Most tasks are not mission critical and urgent, and this framework has helped raise my own productivity significantly.
