What motivates you?

The opportunity to partner with and learn from incredibly smart entrepreneurs, colleagues and the wider ecosystem.  Taking a step back and seeing the impact that healthcare businesses are driving at scale is truly exciting and motivating.

What’s been the steepest learning curve on your career journey so far?

My investment banking experience with Avendus Capital where we built a leading healthcare banking franchise from the ground up, comes to mind.  Key learnings that stood out for me were; creating a culture of excellence and quality in a services business, taking risks, importance of the right complementary team and empowering them to drive outcomes, nuances of working with different types of emerging companies and entrepreneurs and established multibillion dollar businesses.

Which healthcare trend are you most excited about at the moment and why?

Two big trends that excite me today are firstly the increasing penetration of healthcare insurance including the increasing role of government as a significant payor and secondly the accelerated shift from unorganized to organized healthcare services delivering higher quality care to the patients.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

It’s hard to pick one, so here are a few of my all-time favourites - keep your curiosity quotient high and learn from the best, take risks and be bold, you are only as good as your last deal and always bring your A game to the table.
