Eight Roads portfolio company Inceptio Technology, an autonomous driving truck technology and operation company, has raised $188 million in Series B+ financing led by Sequoia Capital China and Legend Capital. Existing investors Eight Roads, NIO Capital, Meituan, Broad Vision Funds also participated.

The fresh funding will be used to further accelerate the development of Inceptio’s self-developed full-stack autonomous driving system “Xuanyuan”, and to introduce more mass-produced autonomous driving truck models to the market.

In 2021, Eight Roads invested in the company’s Series B funding. In the Autonomous Vehicle (AV) technology area, Eight Roads has also invested in Chinese autonomous vehicle market leader Pony.ai, high performance LiDAR technology developer Innovusion, and EQ, an autonomous driving technology developer that specializes in trucks for the mining industry in China.
