Vivienne Ajeh
Senior Risk Manager
Vivienne is a member of the Risk & Compliance team at Eight Roads and moved into her current role after ten years spent at Fidelity International.

Can you describe a typical day at Eight Roads?

Each day is different so I could be working on risk assessments one day and insurance renewal the next. I also work on projects that impact the wider team, for example, we recently completed a major project on GDPR, which spanned across our different regions.

Looking back, what’s been the steepest learning curve on your career journey so far?

Managing an operations team, that was critical to ensuring accurate fair valuation of all Fidelity Hard to Price Assets!  My biggest challenge was ensuring hundreds of suspended Chinese securities, with no price in the market, were accurately fair valued, during the 2015 China stock market crash.

If you could give one piece of advice to your 20-year-old self what would it be?

Stop worrying, all things work together for good.

How do you work as part of the value-add team?

The Eight Roads Risk team is the first line of defence for the business; in addition to our day to day work with our Ventures and Principal Investments teams, we run twice yearly risk assessment workshops, which are key to identifying new risks to the business.
