What motivates you?
Make people’s lives better through innovation.
What’s been the steepest learning curve on your career journey so far?
The turnaround project I led at a pharmaceutical manufacturer in Utah. There is no single home-run that can change your business overnight, but a good leader with a clear vision, able to prioritise tasks and accumulate small successes one by one, can bring the fastest result. I believe the principle is the same no matter how big or small the company might be.
Which Japan tech trend are you most excited about at the moment and why?
I am excited to see more innovation in the healthcare arena and build a sustainable healthcare ecosystem together with entrepreneurs. Especially in Japan, where the government must reform the system so it is able to absorb the vast population of baby boomers who will be 75-years or older by 2025.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
Don’t be afraid of what you don’t know. Curiosity is the mother of learning.
