What motivates you?
On a day to day basis, knowing that I am constantly learning from working in a team of people with different experiences and backgrounds, and by being exposed to founders and management teams, who are working to disrupt industries for the better.
What’s been the steepest learning curve on your career journey so far?
My first real leadership experience, as President of a university society with 1,500 members, was a big challenge with many learnings that I still find applicable when looking at businesses and leadership teams. I got real insight into the challenges of managing (and motivating) a team, pitching and maintaining relationships - with sponsors and investors, and staying in touch with the members to make sure we were putting on events that they wanted to see.
Which investment trend are you most excited about at the moment and why?
It is impossible to not feel excited about the prospect of technology improving the quality and the way in which healthcare is delivered globally. This includes everything from innovations in digital healthcare which aim to help relieve strain put on public healthcare systems, to healthcare entrepreneurs tackling more and more complex problems and addressing patient populations which have previously been overlooked by innovation.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
“You learn something new from every experience you have and everyone you meet”.
