What is the job you do at Eight Roads? Can you briefly describe a day in your life at work?
I help support Eight Roads’ portfolio companies. About half of my time is spent monitoring and helping DeltaHealth, our Principal Investment in China, particularly on fundraising efforts and operational improvements. The other half is spent on various portfolio companies, either helping with fundraising or looking for exit opportunities.
Looking back, what’s been the steepest learning curve on your career journey so far?
Mindset change from a decade long investment banker focused on financial institutions to portfolio management of healthcare and tech companies.
If you could give one piece of advice to your 20-year-old self what would it be?
Spend more time travelling and experiencing various cultures around the globe.
How do you directly support our entrepreneurs/principal investments/portfolio companies? Can you give an example?
The level of support really depends on the portfolio company’s extent of needs. For example, on the fundraising front, I have helped with reaching out to bankers and new investors, as well as aiding on fundraising materials.
