Can you briefly describe a day in your life at work?
My daily work is tailored to portfolio needs. I assist the management team of portfolio companies to prepare financial budget and build up financial reporting system to monitor business performance. I also assist portfolio companies to complete financial due diligence to facilitate process of share sales or business restructure.
Looking back, what’s been the steepest learning curve on your career journey so far?
I was an auditor for national-wide IPO projects in finance industry. I took the role as finance director in a listed internet company and a healthcare company as well. Now I am a finance consultant to support portfolio companies in venture capital industry. These various roles in different industries have kept me learning and adapting throughout my career.
If you could give one piece of advice to your 20-year-old self what would it be?
Take benefits from the economic boom in China and be more aggressive during industry expansion period.
How do you directly support our portfolio companies?
Eight Roads invests in companies at early stage, where they lack competent financial reporting, planning and analysis capabilities, which are essential to the Board and the management team. Therefore, I am keen to support the management team to build up a well-functioned reporting and internal control system and make founders to focus on core business for continuous development.
