What’s been the steepest learning curve on your career journey so far? 

Joining the Farfetch digital marketing analytics team without any analytics or marketing experience, then diving headfirst into the IPO six months in! I’m grateful for people putting faith in my potential over my skill set.  

Which Europe or global tech trend are you most excited about at the moment and why?

Nearly 50% of millennials in the US have a side hustle. This trend is unlikely to disappear as Gen-Z-ers show signs of being even more entrepreneurial. I’m excited to see the next generation of peer-to-peer and gig-economy platforms reach scale and hope to see some positive developments relating to regulatory & humanitarian issues that have arisen.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

Don’t be afraid to take the scenic route in your career, it might take longer but you’ll see more along the way.

What is the company you wish you’d backed and why?

Despite recent COVID wobbles, Airbnb. It’s forged a new era of peer-to-peer companies and along the way nailed some difficult marketplace issues (curation at scale, pricing time-dependent heterogenous supply) and shown us it can be profitable.
