Eight Roads has appointed Shinichiro “Sheen” Komoto as a Partner in Japan. Sheen will use his extensive tech and healthcare experience to identify new investment opportunities and advise the growing Japan portfolio. He joins with immediate effect.
Before Eight Roads, Sheen spent over 17-years at Mitsui & Co. working in Japan, Vietnam, and the US, most recently leading on investment activity in the healthcare sector. While at Mitsui, Sheen collected deep insights across the value chain, including in provider services, healthcare IT, and pharmaceutical R&D and marketing.
Sheen will work as part of the ventures team in Tokyo, which has to-date backed 16 fast-growing businesses. Most recently commerce payment service Paidy; personal mobility pioneer WHILL, and semi-conductor company Flosfia. The Japan team at Eight Roads forms part of a broad global ventures ecosystem, backed by Fidelity.
